The Extraordinary SADC Council of Ministers virtual meeting was held and adopted guidelines that will see the region enhancing cooperation in trade through increased traffic movement, manufacturing drugs and jointly acquiring medicines from countries such as India in order to reduce costs in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The year 2020 has been declared by H.E. the President as the year of production and trade. With the national thrust to develop and promote exports of a diversity of commodities, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade and ZimTrade are visiting exporting companies to assess the state of export industries and appreciate the challenges being faced and efforts being made to export. This is in line with the National Trade Policy and National Export Strategy thrust to develop and promote exports of a diversity of commodities. 

The United Arab Emirates has donated an eight-tone consignment of medical supplies to assist Zimbabwe in the fight against COVID-19.

The Chech Republic is set to officially open an Honorary Consulate in Harare today as relations with the European Republic continue to improve, this coming as the European Union just eased restrictive measures on the members of Cabinet that left only leaving only the Zimbabwe Defence Industry under sanction.

Zimbabwe has waived earlier objections to its immediate implementation of African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCTA) protocols to ensure Africa achieves trade growth envisaged under the pact, President Emmerson Mnangagwa said.

Energy remains a critical pillar for Zimbabwe and the continent to develop, modernise and industrialise, H.E President Mnangagwa has said.

Zimbabwe and China are working on further consolidating their relationship with detailed arrangements such as currency swaps between incoming investors and those repatriating profits. Chinese Foreign Affairs Minister Mr Wang Yi, said this at the end of his five-nation Africa tour yesterday, paid a courtesy call on President Mnangagwa at State House where the two discussed issues concerning the two countries’ relations.

The visiting UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin paid a courtesy call on Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister, Hon. Lt General Dr. SB Moyo at his Munhumutapa offices where they discussed various issues that can help the country to re-engage through sport and how football can be developed with help from the European football governing body.

The UN Special Rapporteur, Ms. Hilal Elver,  was in Zimbabwe from 18 – 28 November 2019 to asses the country regarding legal frameworks, land distribution, agriculture productivity, climate change, and the impact of economic sanctions and conditionalities.

The second Zimbabwe-European Union Political Dialogue Meeting took place in Harare on 21 November 2019.

Head of the Southern African Development Community Electoral Observation Mission (SEOM) to the 2019 National Assembly Elections in the Republic of Mauritius, Hon. Lieutenant General (Retired) Dr. Sibusiso Moyo, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Zimbabwe, released the SEOM's Preliminary Statement following the elections held on 7th November 2019.

The Head of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Electoral Observation Mission (SEOM) to the 2019 National Assembly Elections in the Republic of Mauritius, Honourable Lieutenant General (Rtd) Dr. Sibusiso Moyo, launched the SEOM in Port Louis, Mauritius on the 2nd November 2019.

Continental and regional observer missions to the 2019 Botswana general elections hailed this year's polls as credible and a fair reflection of the will of the people.

The Head of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Electoral Observation Mission (SEOM) to the 2019 General Elections in the Republic of Botswana, Honourable Lt. Gen (Rtd) Dr. Sibusiso Moyo, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Zimbabwe, launched the regional bloc’s Mission in Gaborone, Botswana on the 14th October 2019.
