THE UAE DONATES PERSONAL PREVENTIVE EQUIPMENT TO ZIMBABWE

The United Arab Emirates has donated an eight-tone consignment of medical supplies to assist Zimbabwe in the fight against COVID-19.

The equipment which comprises gloves, masks and sanitizers arrived at the Robert Mugabe International Airport aboard an Etihad jet from the UAE and was handed over to the Chairman of the COVID-19 Inter- Ministerial  Taskforce, Hon Vice President Kembo Mohadi by the United Arab Emirates Charge ‘D Affairs, Mr Saif Rashash Al Blooshi.

“This is a donation from the government of the UAE to show you that you are not alone in this fight against the Coronavirus and as a true friend, the UAE shall continue assisting Zimbabwe where we can”, said Mr Rashash.

In his speech after receiving the donation on behalf of the government; Vice President Mohadi thanked the United Arab Emirates for its timely intervention and said, “Zimbabwe really appreciates the kind gesture in the form of these medical supplies that we received from the UAE. This will assist us in our fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Honorable Vice President Mohadi was accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Lt Gen, (Rtd) Dr. Sibusiso Moyo, Minister of Health and Child Care, Dr Obadiah Moyo and Minister of Local   Government, Hon July Moyo.
